Toilet Reviews - What To Look For

Buying a new toilet isn't necessary very often.  Therefore, since we do it so rarely, few of us are adequatley prepared to make a good buying decision.  Most of us just don't know that much about toilets.  In order to make sure that the next one you buy fits your needs and provides good value, you should read some toilet reviews written by both industry experts and consumers alike.  There are certain factors that you should especially pay attention to and they are described here.

1)  Water consumption.  How much water does the toilet use to flush?  The amount is usually measured in gallons and there are certain models that are specifically designed to be water conserving.  There are even some that use less water to flush liquid waste and more water for solid.  Be prepared to spend more on the models that conserve water.

2)  Value.  Reading these reviews can go a long way in helping you make a good educated guess about whether or not a specific model will be a good value buy.  There are several things that you can learn from reviews of toilets that can help determine value.  Cost, warranty information, durability, and performance can all be learned.

3)  Extras.  Believe it or not, there are some toilet models that come with things like padded or heated seats, self flushing and cleaning modes, built in stereo systems or televisions, and many more extras.  Some of these extras work better than others and some are not worth the extra money you will pay for them.  You can learn which ones are which by reading well written reviews.

There are some who really like the extras like power flushing, or water conservation. I don't know if they are worth the money. I know for me too, regular toilets are just fine.

Why is there such a huge price diffference in toilets these days? I can't understand it. I always thought of a toilet as somethig plain. Why not just get the cheapest there is.
