Amazingly Weird Antique Toilets

Today, the toilets that we have are very good and modern.  For the most part, they are reliable and durable.  Back in the day, that definitely wasn't always the case.  Here are some examples of some antique toilets that will really blow your mind in how they were designed, how they looked, or how they functioned.

1)  The Throne Toilet.  This toilet was designed like a throne and it looks exactly like it sounds.  The toilet seat acts as the seat of the throne and the big back rest is tall and contains several features that make the toilet very convenient.  First, it has a candle holder built into it so that you can have a lit candle while you use the toilet.  Second, there is a built in ashtray that is very convenient for smokers.  Lastly, it contains a chain pull flushing system.

2)  The Composting Toilet.  Before indoor plumbing was readily available in American homes, there were still toilets.  Midwest farmers invented these type of toilets that would be in the house but the waste would be deposited outside.  There was a waste collection system that would harvest up composted soil for planting.  They weren't much to look at but they sure did function well.

3)  The Water Dump.  There were certain toilets that didn't work with indoor plumbing but would flush in their own way when water was dumped into them.  For the most part, they were very messy and not many people used them because they would overflow very easily.
